Spiritman Art (Jackie Gaistman)

Artist member since 2022
Pro
Toronto, Ontario

I began my journey as an artist from the moment I could hold a crayon. Creating art has been like breathing ever since, a necessity for me to feel alive. Drawing and painting and creating art feeds my soul with joy.

I was a teacher for the North York Board of Education and the Toronto District School Board for thirty-one years. I taught adolescent students in a unique arts school, integrating all of the arts into the learning process for students, for most of my career. I am now placing all of my energy into creating art and putting it out into the world.

I love and I am inspired by: music, creativity, learning, sharing, connecting, spirituality, nature, my family, my relationships with those close to me as well as those I meet in passing and all of my adventures in life. The name Spiritman Art comes from my last name being translated into English from German. I aspire to have the name Spiritman reflected in my art. Art is an extension of me. My art is a visual depiction of my soul.
